In May this year the Dutch Championship was held once again, with exciting games at three venues in the Netherlands. Besides crowning several champions, three Respect the Game Awards were handed out. Those awards are decided by the umpires and by the opposing teams’ coaches.
Together with the Little League Netherlands organisation, Playball Europe is running a series of clinics at the BP Sports Center in Amsterdam. On Sunday 24 November the softball team “Meiden van het Noorden” was the first to have their turn. Under the expert guidance of Dutch internationals Marijn Crouwel and Charlotte Drijvers they worked hard and covered various aspects of the game in detail.
On Sunday 29 December the Intermediates from region North were the guests in Amsterdam. Sadly there were quite a few cancellations, but the 6 players and coaches who did come had a great time.
The parents who travelled along could watch the training session from the terrace. Afterwards the players were treated to hamburgers, fries and soft drinks. Satisfied but tired, the team then set off on the journey back north.
