Little League Baseball and Softball is an international organization that runs local youth baseball and softball competitions in the United States. The Little League program is designed for baseball and softball players aged 10 to 16.
In the Netherlands, we play in the KNBSB competition with our club teams. In addition, for enthusiastic kids, we organize the Little League Program. In the Netherlands, Little League is a regional training program that you can sign up for individually — everyone is welcome!
When you register, you’ll take part in at least three try-out training sessions in your region. After that, you may be selected for your region’s All-Star team. With that team, you’ll compete in the Dutch Little League Championship, held every year during the Pentecost weekend.
The winning teams of the Dutch Championship advance to the European Championships. For the Softball Seniors division, the program is arranged slightly differently — you can read more about that here.
The winning teams of the European Championships are invited, fully funded by the international Little League organization, to the World Series in the United States. How amazing is that!
Note! The Little League age is not always the same as the player’s actual age during the Dutch Championship.
