# About the Dutch Little League Championship

The Dutch Little League Championship is the national youth tournament for baseball and softball. It is carried by a foundation, twelve regions and a few hundred volunteers.

## What it is about

Little League is played on shortened fields with its own rules, so that children learn baseball and softball at their own size. Everyone plays, everyone bats, and how you treat each other matters as much as who wins.

The championship is, one weekend a year, the end point of that season: regional selections playing each other for the national title, and the winner representing the Netherlands in Europe.

### Safe sport

Everyone who works with children holds a VOG; coaches complete the Diamond Leader course. There is a confidential contact and a code of conduct that applies to the whole grounds.
