Of course it is fantastic to become Dutch champion and qualify for the European championship. But the most… Respect the game is central to the NK Little League every year. Of course it is fantastic to become Dutch champion and qualify for the European championship. But the most important thing is that you play a great, sporting tournament with your team-mates. And that includes respect for your opponents, the umpires and the organisers. To encourage and underline that this is what it is all about, we hand out the Respect the Game award every year. This prestigious award is sponsored by Play Ball Europe and de Kievieten. Three Respect the Game Awards were handed out at NKLL2022 as well! At each venue the umpires and organisers chose the team that stood out for sportsmanship, respect and the joy of playing during the NKLL. The winners in 2022 were: - Almere venue: Softball Littles Eastern Athletics - Rotterdam venue: Baseball Intermediates The Heague Bears - Hoofddorp venue: Baseball Juniors Rotterdam And the Rotterdam juniors proved that winning this award and becoming Dutch champion go together perfectly. They won both prizes! All three teams were treated to a fantastic clinic by the experienced instructors of Play Ball Europe at the BP Sportcentre in Amsterdam. After the clinic there were burgers and drinks for everyone too. Brilliant to be able to play baseball and softball together once more at the end of the year and close out the Little League season 2022 with your team like that!
