# Equipment

What you bring yourself, what the club provides and what is inspected at the championship. Unsure about a bat or helmet? Have it checked beforehand at the equipment inspection.

## Bring yourself

Put your name on everything.

- **Glove** — suited to your position
- **Your own batting helmet** — most players have one of their own
- **Baseball or softball shoes** — moulded cleats; metal spikes only in Juniors and Seniors
- **Baseball or softball trousers** — with sports socks and a cap
- **Water bottle, sunscreen and rain jacket** — Whitsun weather can go either way
- **Sports bag** — with your name on it

## Provided by the club or the championship

No need to buy these yourself.

- **Tournament shirt** — included in the registration fee
- **Spare helmets** — available per dugout
- **Catcher's gear** — mask, chest and leg protection
- **Game balls** — and team bats
- **First aid and cooling** — at every venue

## Bats

All bats are inspected before the first game. Without a valid certification mark you may not hit with it — not even in the warm-up.

### Baseball

USA Baseball or USSSA mark, maximum 2⅝ inch diameter. Wooden bats are always allowed.

[Baseball bat rules at Little League](https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/bat-rules/)

### Softball

Softball bat with ASA or WBSC mark, maximum 2¼ inch diameter.

[Softball bat rules at Little League](https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/bat-rules/)

### Not allowed

Bats with cracks, a loose end cap or a taped-over mark. Stickers have to come off the bat. When in doubt, have it checked at the equipment inspection on the first game day.

Certification marks follow the Little League International rulebook. [The rules on metal spikes and face guards are confirmed per season by the tournament management.]

## Mandatory protection

| | Mandatory | Note |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Batting helmet | All leagues | Also when running the bases and as a coach in the coach's box |
| Face guard on the helmet | Littles | Recommended in the other leagues |
| Catcher's mask and throat guard | All leagues | Also when warming up a pitcher |
| No jewellery | All leagues | Jewellery off, including earrings and watches |

## No gear of your own?

Clubs almost always have gloves and shoes to lend. If that does not work out, tell your regional coordinator — we will arrange equipment.
