# What does it cost?

Running a tournament costs money, and we are open about it. You contribute at two moments: when registering, for the tryouts and the training sessions, and only after selection, for the tournament itself. Whoever is not selected does not pay that second part.

Two moments

## Where your contribution goes

1 · On registration

### Tryouts and training

± € 60

indicative amount per player, differs per region

Each region organises its own tryouts and training sessions and sets this contribution itself. One region sits a little below the indicative amount, another a little above. The starting point is the same everywhere: costs as low as possible, training as good as possible, and fun first.

#### Where it goes

- Hire of fields and halls
- Training equipment and balls
- Expense allowance for the coaches

2 · After selection

### The tournament

Differs per region and team

only for players in the selection

If your child is in the selection, a second contribution follows for the tournament weekend. How high it is depends on the region and on the choices the team makes, in clothing for instance. Your regional coordinator names the amount before you say yes.

#### Where it goes

- Follow-up training with the selection
- The team fee every team pays to the Little League organisation
- Team clothing for the tournament

Not selected?

Then it stops at the first contribution. That covers the tryouts and training your child has had; the cost of the tournament falls only on the players who go.

### About the clothing

Team clothing has minimum requirements, and within those each team chooses for itself. One team turns up in a t-shirt, another wants hoodies or a complete new uniform. All of it is allowed; the choice lies with the coaches and the parents involved, and it explains part of the differences between regions. Finding a sponsor for this part is of course allowed too. You arrange that yourselves.

### What you pay yourself

- Travel to the tryouts, the training sessions and the tournament
- Accommodation if you live far away
- Your own glove, shoes and helmet
- Food and drink at the venue

What equipment you need is on [Equipment](https://nklittleleague.nl/en/meedoen/materiaal). Clubs often lend gear.

## Paying

1

### On registration

The regional coordinator tells you how high the first contribution is and how to pay. It covers the tryouts and the training sessions.

2

### After selection

If your child is in the team, you hear the amount of the second contribution before you commit. Paying in instalments is always possible.

3

### Withdrawing

In case of injury or illness you can ask for part of your contribution back, as long as that money has not been spent yet. This is arranged with the coaches and the regional coordinator of your region.
